BC Ferries provides passenger & vehicle vessels operating year-round on 25 routes throughout coastal British Columbia. 3 major routes connect Vancouver Island to the Lower Mainland of BC: Swartz Bay to Tsawwassen (1.5 hrs.), Duke Point to Tsawwassen (2 hrs.), and Nanaimo to Horseshoe Bay (1.5 hrs.) While reservations on the BCF mainland routes are optional and can be purchased from BCF at $15 above the standard fare, Ferry Reservations for the Port Hardy / Prince Rupert; Queen Charlottes and Discovery Coast Passage are suggested.
